01

Data controller

PortX Technologies Ltd. is the data controller for personal data collected through this website and our services. We are registered in Nigeria and operate in accordance with the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 (NDPA) and, where applicable, other data-protection regulations.

02

Information we collect

We collect personal data in the following situations:

  • When you contact us. Your name, email address, organisation, role, and the contents of any message you send via our contact form or by email.
  • When you make or receive a payment. Billing details, transaction identifiers, and limited payment-method metadata returned by our payment processor (Paystack). We do not store full card numbers or card security codes on our servers.
  • When you visit the site. Anonymised technical data including IP address, browser type, device, referring page, and pages viewed. This may be collected via cookies or similar technologies for analytics and security.
  • During an engagement. Project-specific information shared by the client and, where in scope, data required to deliver the engagement. The use of such data is governed by the relevant statement of work and any data processing agreement.
03

How we use your information

We use personal data to:

  • respond to enquiries and scope engagements;
  • deliver, support, and improve our products and services;
  • process payments, issue invoices, and meet accounting and tax obligations;
  • detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents;
  • comply with legal and regulatory obligations.
04

Legal basis for processing

We process personal data on one or more of the following lawful bases: your consent; the performance of a contract with you; compliance with a legal obligation; or our legitimate interests in operating and securing the studio, where those interests are not overridden by your rights.

05

Sharing your information

We do not sell personal data. We share it only with carefully selected processors and partners who help us run the studio, including:

  • Paystack, our payment processor, for processing card and bank-transfer payments;
  • reputable infrastructure providers for hosting, email, and analytics;
  • professional advisers (legal, accounting, audit) under appropriate duties of confidence;
  • regulators and law enforcement, where disclosure is required by law.

Where data is transferred outside Nigeria, we ensure an adequate level of protection is in place, including standard contractual safeguards required under the NDPA.

06

Cookies

The site uses a small number of cookies and similar technologies for essential functionality, security, and aggregate analytics. You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling certain cookies may affect site functionality.

07

Data retention

We retain personal data only for as long as is necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, to comply with legal or regulatory requirements, or to resolve disputes. Engagement and billing records are typically retained for at least seven (7) years to meet statutory and tax obligations.

08

Security

We apply technical and organisational measures appropriate to the risk involved, including encrypted transport, access controls, logging, and personnel training. No system is perfectly secure; if we become aware of an incident that affects your personal data, we will notify you and the relevant authority as required by law.

09

Your rights

Subject to applicable law, you have the right to:

  • request access to the personal data we hold about you;
  • request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data;
  • request deletion of your data where there is no overriding obligation to retain it;
  • object to or restrict certain processing, including direct marketing;
  • request a copy of your data in a portable format;
  • withdraw consent at any time, where consent is the basis;
  • lodge a complaint with the Nigeria Data Protection Commission or another competent authority.

To exercise any of these rights, email info@portxtechnologies.com. We will respond within the timelines set by applicable law.

10

Children's privacy

The site and our services are not directed to children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to remove it.
